The East Lothian Climate Hub exists to upscale local action. From community food growing, to planting hedgerows, we work with those in power and groups making a difference in communities. The Hub is holding a full day of events as part of the Haddstock Festival.
Come, learn about practical everyday climate and nature action and be inspired about what is possible for large-scale change.
We are asking an (optional) £3 donation for the limited tickets to these events. All proceeds go to local climate and nature action.”

2.00-3.30 — The Poldrate Granary, Haddington Bamff Wildland in Perthshire is a pioneering rewilding project sitting amongst some of the country’s best agricultural land. Manager Sophie Ramsay talks about the ecological change so far, political barriers and the emotion of witnessing wildness take hold.Climate Bazaar!
11am – 3.30pm, the Trinity Centre
Upcycle clothes; cycle your way to work or town; or learn about how breastfeeding supports the climate. Drop-in to talk to the Climate Hub and interact with an array of stalls & activities around climate.

GFF 2026: Three Events, One Festival
The Green Futures festival is East Lothian’s celebration of communities acting on climate and nature issues. It is a showcase for the amazing things happening in our back yard. With events for all ages and projects anyone can get involved in. Thinking globally, acting locally.
The Green Futures Festival is back and bigger in 2026. There will be three separate GFF events – serving the diverse, passionate climate groups across East Lothian.
It will be an opportunity to celebrate our members, share our work with decision makers, and showcase our work at East Lothian’s best summer street festival!
Come connect, learn and celebrate together.
Green Futures Festival 2026 Programme
Building Sustainable action in East Lothian
When & where: Sat 24th January 2024, 10-3pm, Prestonpans Community Centre.
The first event is Building Sustainable Action in East Lothian. Our main event for ELCAN members and those interested in getting involved. With presentations and stalls on local action, it is about learning and celebrating the work going on across East Lothian. Come, share and learn how to develop and grow local action. Guest speakers include a call with Pam Warhurst of Incredible Edible Todmorden, whose Ted Talk “eating our landscapes” has been seen 1.5 million times.

Fair Futures Festival
When & where: Wed 4th March, 9-5pm, Queen Margaret University
Our Fair Futures Festival in early March is for decision makers and community members. It will focus on climate action and poverty. Discussions will be around best practice, co-benefit solutions and strategic action. As a week-day workshop, the Fair Futures event is aimed towards local council members and organisations addressing the climate crisis as inequality issue. ELCAN members are welcome.
Climate Hub X Haddstock
When & where: Sat 30th May, Haddington
East Lothian’s busiest street festival, Haddstock is attended by 4000 each year. The Climate Hub will be hosting a family friendly events and demonstrations showcasing local sustainability action. We have a day-long programme of talks, demonstrations and an afternoon of practical workshops for the public to get involved in. Drop by to learn a new skill and find new inspiration in the amazing projects happening across East Lothian. All welcome!

The Green Futures Festivals
Our Green Future Festivals see communities groups from across East Lothian working on climate and environmental action come together to showcase and celebrate their work.
The programme features dozens of talks ranging from international Climate Voices sharing lived experience of the drastic effects of the climate crisis, to hyperlocal guidance on breathing life into your own small garden.
It is a wonderful day of inspiration, hope and showing what action you can get involved in.
