Grant funding

We are here to empower communities to take action and work on challenges related to climate and nature action. One of the ways we do this is by directly providing funding for projects.

The East Lothian Climate Hub has distributed nearly £10,000 in 2024-25 to Community Climate and Nature Action projects within East Lothian. See this post to see the projects that were successfully funded.

We are continuously seeking additional funding to provide higher levels of funding to organisations, and for an increasingly diverse range of activities.

Follow our website updates and/or social media to see when the next grant funding round will be available.

East Lothian Climate Hub Community Climate and Nature Action Grants

Applications were open June to November 2024.

Nearly £10,000 was available, divided between three categories.

See this post to see the projects that were successfully funded.

Category 1: Seed and Continuance Climate and Nature Action

This grant was intended for all existing ELCAN organisations, and those which are dedicated mostly or completely to community-driven climate or nature action.

Category 2: Youth-Driven Action

Initiatives, campaigns or projects designed and driven by young people (mostly or all aged 18 or younger).

Category 3: Inclusivity-Driven Climate and Nature Action

This was open new ELCAN members, including those who consider themselves and their activity/core work as non-climate action, e.g. groups like sports clubs, freelancers, and small businesses.
