Future Farm East Lothian held its second event in mid-March on Developing Financial Resilience through Regenerative Agriculture.
Many farmers want to adopt practices that are regenerative to land and nature, but need to understand how this financially impacts their business. Johnnie Balfour from Balbirnie Home Farms (Fife) joined to talk on their transition to a regenerative farming system to build economic and environmental resilience.
We had a room-full of attendees (including 18 farmers) from across East Lothian and some great discussions around the financial implications of moving towards regenerative practices.
We are also trialling an online community to enable farmers across East Lothian to exchange questions, ideas and reflections around regenerative farming.
The East Lothian Farm Cluster FFEL is a partnership between the Climate Hub and Balanced Horizon Charity .
